Commercial Flat Roof Replacement
One of the largest advantages of using a flat roof, is their affordability. When putting the total cost together with materials and installation, Flat Roofs are an economical option with low maintenance and upkeep requirements.
Compared to pitched roofs, Flat Roofs allow for a generally more accessible roof. Having a low sloped roof does make it easier to do activities with relative ease.
Whichever type of Flat Roof you choose, you can be sure that they are built to last. Flat Roofs are made of long lasting, strong material that typically can withstand UV-Rays, harsh weather, and heavier weight than the standard pitched roof.

Thermoplastic (TPO) roofing will give you a long lasting roof that comes at a relatively low cost. It has the advantages of PVC and EPDM roofs, without the extra expenses.
- Resistant to Microbial Attack
- UV- Resistant
- Heat Resistant
On a hot summer day in Chicagoland, a black roof can reach temperatures as high as 170 Degrees Fahrenheit. When compared to a reflective white surface of a TPO Roof, that roof temperature can be as cool as 110 Degrees Fahrenheit.
A modified bitumen roof comes with various advantages to consider when looking at options for your home. Something unique about this type of roofing is that the seams are typically melted together which helps prevent leaks. It is also made of a very durable material that is rated against wind, fire, and hail so damage is unlikely.
EPDM is an very strong and resilient roofing system that can last for 30 years when installed and maintained properly. EPDM is an affordable and high performing roof that is able to withstand the range of temperatures we get here in Chicagoland.
- Traditional Black or Highly Reflective White
- Resists Thermal Shock & Hail Damage
- Remains Flexible & Won’t Shatter in Frigid Temps
BUR roof systems are composed of alternating layers of bitumen and ply sheets that create a completed membrane. Built Up Roofs provide excellent waterproofing, ultra-violet protection and are fire-resistant. They are pretty low maintenance and do not cost much to maintain properly.
When you drive around Chicago and enter the surrounding suburbs, there are many businesses that have flat roofs a.k.a. low slope roofs. These roof types are less costly to install, are typically are more energy efficient than pitched roofs, and can withstand the variety of intense weather we all encounter in the area.
A cool feature of having a flat roof is that the space can be used for other purposes. you could design a roof that becomes an outdoor lounge area or plant a garden- the POSSIBILITies are limited to your imagination.

The final product was excellent. The Promar team installing the siding (Jake and team) performed quality work, walked us through every step of the install process, and were very receptive to questions and minor adjustments requested to provide us with the finished product we desired. Our sales representative, Rick, kept open communication, was reasonable with requested changes, and was transparent throughout the process. Their estimate was at or below similar estimates we received in the area. Would use Promar again and recommend to others.
Promar Exteriors recently installed windows in my older home in Downers Grove. I am extremely pleased with the windows and with the excellent service from this company. This was the first time that I contracted for exterior work on my home. Selecting Promar Exteriors was the best choice. Sales showed me several types of windows, not just the most expensive ones. We discussed the benefits of each and I selected the windows that met my needs. The installers came on time and did a excellent job installing. The work was completed in the most professional manner – they took any waste from the job and even vacuumed the work area.
I have worked with them twice now (shingle roof, vinyl siding and aluminum gutters installation) and would recommend them to anyone–quality work at a fair price. Their folks were professional and polite, explained the work to be done, and kept to their estimate. They also worked quickly and kept an eye on the weather.
We just had our shingle roof replaced. Promar was not the lowest bid. However, they were competitive with the other proposals from roofing companies. We needed aluminum gutters and marvin wood windows installed and several upgrades to the roof. As most folks know, the challenge is finding a company that does professional quality work and can do what they promise.
The work done by Promar was above and beyond. We got a new roof, new windows (including a bow window) and siding for both the house and garage. Everything was done as scheduled.
They started and finished per the schedule perfectly and everyone involved was here when they said and worked long hours to make sure they got everything done. Rick, our rep, was very amicable and helpful in helping us make decisions. Jake, the main man could not have been more friendly and professional. Their work was top notch. We are extremely happy we went with this company and are perfectly pleased with the outcome of everything involved. We more than highly recommend Promar Exteriors. Many thanks!
I’ve used Promar for many projects in the Western Suburbs. Being a project manager I have gone through many companies in the past. For 3 years now they have done a wonderful job handling a lot of Roofing and Siding projects for me. Highly recommended in my book.
